When you connect Google Analytics to your AnnounceKit project, AnnounceKit sends engagement events to your GA property — such as when a visitor opens the widget, views a post, or interacts with your changelog feed. These events appear in your GA dashboard alongside the rest of your site's traffic data, giving you a unified view of how users engage with your announcements.

How to set it up

Go to your project's Settings → Integrations and enter your Google Analytics Property ID in the Google Analytics field.

Which Property ID to use?

If you are using Google Analytics 4 (GA4) — which is the current standard since Universal Analytics was sunset in 2023 — your Measurement ID starts with G- (for example, G-XXXXXXXXXX). Enter this in the field.

If you are still on an older Universal Analytics property, your Tracking ID starts with UA-. Note that Google shut down Universal Analytics in July 2023, so we recommend migrating to GA4 if you haven't already.
