SOC 2 Compliance at AnnounceKit

Security has been of primary importance for us from day one, now confirmed with SOC 2.

We here at AnnounceKit always prioritize the trust of our users. So we work hard to ensure and protect their privacy and data. This is why we are pleased as punch to announce that AnnounceKit is now SOC 2 Type I compliant!

SOC 2 is a framework applicable to all SaaS companies that store customer data to ensure that organizational controls and practices effectively safeguard customer and client data privacy and security.

With this compliance, AnnounceKit will continue to demonstrate how we cover privacy, security, and confidentiality.

Webhooks Integration

The more you streamline your business processes, the more you reduce your workload.

So, we are constantly improving our integration options to make your experience smoother. Let me present you with Webhooks 🔗

Webhooks is a technology that integrates applications with minimal effort to send automated messages and push real-time data from one application to another. At its simplest, it is a way of your applications speaking to each other.

From now on, AnnounceKit will be able to speak to your other applications, and you will be able to receive AnnounceKit events via webhooks.

Learn more here.

Monthly Archive: Jump to Month 🤸‍♀️

Archiving is important to put the posts you published in a specific month together and keep your data in order.

From now on, you can display a monthly archive on your feed to group your posts by month and enable your users to easily see what improvements you have done in that specific month.

When your users click on any month, the result will show all the posts for that particular month.

You can add an archive to your feed by going to Theme Designer and enabling Archive. How exactly? Let's see here!

JWT User Authentication

Maintaining user integrity across platforms can be an issue in some cases. Don't worry, AnnounceKit has a solution to that too.

JSON Web Token (JWT) is an industry standard that defines a self-contained simple token for securely transmitting information between parties. This token is verified and trusted. It is signed using a secret key by a trusted source, mostly by you.

Setting the JWT improves user integrity, and you can be sure that only verified users can interact with your feed. Also, if you're using the Private Feed option, it adds an additional layer of security by only allowing verified users.

Privacy Settings Improvement: Magic Access Link

We value your security and privacy as much as we value your product updates and company news.

We had several privacy options to keep your announcements private or for internal use only. Now, we're enhancing these settings to open a few more doors for you.

You will be able to add a domain-based rule to your feed that will limit access to your feed page only with the allowed domain extension.

With domain access, people can send a request to access your feed. If their domain extension matches with your settings, they'll get a magic link via email and will be able to reach your feed with this link, only for 24 hours.

Feel free to see more here; it does not require domain access 🤫

Custom Icon for Float Launcher

We had rocket, bell, chat bubble, and gift box icons for your float launcher in the past, we still have, but these icons can be insufficient in some cases. You might want to customize your launcher's icon according to your branding and website design.

Good news! From now on, you can upload your own icon either in PNG or GIF format. With custom icons, you can maintain a certain brand or aesthetic on your web page.

See how to add a custom icon to your launcher in our Help Center.

Favicon Notifications 🎱

We are pleased to announce that we have a new little friend at AnnounceKit -favicon notification badges!

Favicon notifications are browser tab notifications that notify your users of new updates you published on AnnounceKit with an unread counter badge on your favicon.

With favicon notifications, you can
grab users’ attention to tell them of new updates, particularly when they are away from your website or browsing other browser tabs.

You can enable favicon notifications in your Widget Settings. Learn more here!

Feed Customization Improvements

If you've been around AnnounceKit for a while, you'll know our feed theme designer hasn't significantly evolved since its first launch. So, we have added quite cool stuff, as you asked.

Header Background Image
From now on, you can add a header image to your newsfeed to create an aesthetically pleasing user experience. It provides a chance to showcase your company, your product, or any other aspect of your business that will make people want to explore your announcements.

Layout Settings
Now with layout settings, you can set to overlap your post list onto your header or not and you will be able to align description text to the left or center.

Visit our Help Center to learn how to set up yours!
